We aim to introduce children to cricket, to give them a love of the game, and provide opportunities for many to compete against other clubs.
The youngest children between School Years 3 and 6 (Under 8 – 11) are introduced to the basic skills of throwing, bowling, catching and batting.
They are coached in Year groups. There is an emphasis on fun and participation using small informal games to develop these skills and encourage teamwork. We will also use drills to develop agility, balance and coordination.
Between the ages Under 12 to Under 15 groups there is a greater emphasis on technical and tactical awareness. Much of the practice will take place in the nets. Under 12s and 13s are coached together; as are Under 14s and 15s. There are teams at each age group.
Some older boys may also be considered for selection in adult teams.
Beyond Under 15s, our coaching programme aims to further develop and prepare our best young cricketers for adult cricket. Entry into this programme is by invitation only.
